SJR Math Dept. in the '70s

When I arrived at SJR there were 3 mathematics teachers. From left to right they are: David Plank who taught mathematics 80% of the time and science 20% of the time, Donald Johnson, and myself. Don had just been named head of the mathematics department. Previously Hugh McCracken was head of both mathematics and science. This was David's second year at SJR. Don had been there for 9 years. I was the replacement for Ken Gorrie who had retired in June of 1975. The school was much smaller then. Upper school consisted of Grades 8 to 12. There were 49 students in Grade 8 in that year and a similar number in the other grades.
